Twelve companies will vie for honours at the 15th Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games, which begin on Sunday (today) and ends on March 1.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for the Chevron Recreation Centre, Gbagada, Lagos while Ikoyi Club 1938 and the Teslim Balogun Stadium are the other venues for the event.
Some of the events to be competed for are tennis, squash, swimming, athletics and golf. Others are chess, scrabble and football.
Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Games, Louis Ogbeifun, said the Games were meant to foster friendship among teams.
Ogbeifun said, “It has afforded sportsmen and women in the oil and gas industry the opportunity to come together under a convivial atmosphere to interact with one another and promote friendship through sporting competition.”
